What is the best dietary plan for you? A dietitian should have an answer! Dietitians would tailor-make dietary plans based on individual health conditions and dietary habits. To become a dietitian, you need to obtain a relevant bachelor’s degree first. Since Hong Kong has no statutory registration system for dietitians, you may first need to study a registered dietitian courses in local or overseas institutions. After completing clinical practicum and passing the professional examination, you will be registered as a foreign registered dietitian. You might wish to become an accredited dietitian in Hong Kong by applying to the Hong Kong Academy of Accredited Dietitians, an accredited healthcare professional body under the Department of Health's Accredited Registers Scheme for Healthcare Professions. For nutrition therapist assistant, the required academic qualification is relatively lower than dietitian given its assistant role.  However, nutrition therapist assistants also need to receive specialised training and there are many certificate courses available in the market offering the required knowledge and skills. In-service nutrition therapist assistants may also further their studies to pave the way to become dietitians one day! National Security Education Day 2024

On 1 July 2015, the National Security Law of the people's Republic of China was adopted at the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 12th National people's Congress, and 15 April each year was designated as the National Security Education Day. The National Security Education Day aims at raising public awareness of national security, creating a positive atmosphere of safeguarding national security, enhancing the capacity to fend off national security risks, deepening public understanding of the Constitution, the Basic Law and national security, and fostering a sense of national identity. The activities of National Security Education Day on 15 April 2024 include National Security Education Day flag raising ceremony, open days of disciplined and auxiliary services, National Security Cup awards presentation ceremony of the disciplined services, opening ceremony of National Security Education Day, seminars, visits to schools by government officials for national security education activities, etc. Meanwhile, community activities in the 18 districts across the territories and different activities organised by relevant Bureaux and Departments (including Civil Service Bureau, Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Education Bureau, Environment and Ecology Bureau, and Home and Youth Affairs Bureau) are being held in support of National Security Education Day. [HKYouth+] HYAB Launched Youth Mobile Application!

The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB) has launched the "HKYouth+" youth mobile application, providing a one-stop platform to disseminate comprehensive information about youth development programmes. Young people can make use of "HKYouth+" to explore different opportunities and activities according to their individual needs and interests. Following the first release of "HKYouth+", the HYAB will continue to produce and upload more practical learning resources and original multimedia content, and will progressively provide more information about the youth activities organised by the HYAB, the Youth Development Commission (YDC) and the 18 District Offices under the Home Affairs Department. HKYouth+'s Functions and Features "HKYouth+" is a comprehensive platform specially designed for Hong Kong youths to provide latest youth development information and activities that cover many different areas, including personal development opportunities, local hot topics, national development, arts and leisure, innovation and technology, physical and mental wellness, etc. It enables young people to explore different areas of interest and enrich themselves with various learning resources. The HYAB immediately began the preparation and application development work, which included consulting the action group under the YDC, conducting questionnaire surveys and organising multiple focus groups to gather opinions from more than 1 000 young people and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Thematic Youth Internship Programmes to the Mainland 2024

The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau announced the launch of a new round of the Thematic Youth Internship Programmes to the Mainland to provide young people with thematic internship opportunities in cultural, nature conservation and scientific research institutions on the Mainland. Six internships will be rolled out under the new round of the Thematic Programmes, including: "Hong Kong-Macao Youth Internship Programme at Palace Museum", co-organised with the Palace Museum in Beijing "Youth Internship Programme at Wolong Region of Giant Panda National Park", co-organised with the Sichuan Provincial Administration of the Giant Panda National Park "Youth Internship Programme at Chinese Academy of Sciences", co-organised with the Chinese Academy of Sciences "Youth Internship Programme at Dunhuang", co-organised with the Dunhuang Academy "Youth Internship Programme at Shandong on Marine Sciences", co-organised with Laoshan National Laboratory at Qingdao "Youth Internship Programme at Wuyishan on Biodiversity Conservation", co-organised with the Wuyishan National Park Administration   Programmes OverviewThe internship programmes will commence from June to August this year and last for three to six weeks, providing Hong Kong youths with more than 110 thematic internship positions covering areas such as cultural heritage preservation, scientific research and technology, and ecological and environmental conservation. Through the internship, participants will gain an in-depth understanding and participate in the work of national cultural, nature conservation, and scientific research institutions, and acquire unique work experience by undertaking various training and research projects under the guidance of experts. Apart from internships, the co-organisers will also provide training, field trips and other cultural exchange activities for participants, thereby deepening their understanding of the local culture and industry developments. EligibilityApplicants should be local full-time post-secondary students (including sub-degree, undergraduate and post-graduate students) aged between 18 and 30, and holding a Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or a Hong Kong Identity Card.
